Client: Carpenter’s Company, Dan Bosin Associates, Mills & Schnoering Architects, Haverstick - Borthwick
Awards: Best Historic Preservation Project, GBCA 2023 Construction Excellence Awards
Photographing the painstaking renovations of Carpenter’s Hall, which included recovery from arson committed during construction, was a years-long assignment. Visiting the site at phased intervals, documentation included joining the construction crew as they excavated around the foundation, shooting spaces before and after installation of updated HVAC systems, and climbing scaffolding with tradesmen responsible for restoration of the cupola. The project culminated with a photography exhibit unveiled at the reopening celebration, which included a curated selection of photos of the process.
